Rents Surge Across Canada, Windsor Witnesses Sharp Increase

Rental prices are on the rise in Windsor and throughout Canada, according to the latest findings from Rentals.ca. The report highlights that the average rent price in Canada surpassed $2,100 in October.

In a ranking of 35 cities, Windsor secured the 28th spot, presenting the most affordable rents in the province. Despite this, the average cost for a one-bedroom unit in Windsor slightly exceeded $1,500, marking an almost 11% increase compared to the previous year. For a two-bedroom unit, the average cost in Windsor was just below $2,000, reflecting a 7.1% surge from 2022.

Toronto emerged as the costliest city in Ontario, with rents exceeding $2,600 per month for a one-bedroom unit.

Looking at the national scenario, Vancouver retained its position as the most expensive city for rentals, with a one-bedroom unit commanding a staggering $2,872. The report indicates a widespread trend of increasing rental costs, reflecting the ongoing challenges in the Canadian housing market.
